INTRODUCTION OF THE LAPTOP SCHEME PHASE-III:
The Honorable Prime Minister of Pakistan announced that government were provide laptops to talented students. The project aims to give opportunities in the form of laptop to the young and talented students studying in public sector Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) across the country and Azad Jammu & Kashmir. The project has been approved by ECNEC, as the Prime Minister Youth Laptop Scheme (PMYLS) Phase-III. In this regard, 100,000 laptops would be awarded to talented students on merit through an online transparent system. In the past, two such schemes have been successfully executed by the Higher Education Commission.
HOW TO APPLY?
Students are encouraged to apply online by creating an account or updating their profile at the Students' Service Portal link below. Students can apply through a mobile app or an online portal.
CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILITY:
Students must enroll no earlier than the start of each program, as shown in the table below:
1) The candidate must possess a current CNIC or B-Form number.
2) Must be a current student as of the application deadline, which is June 30, 2023.
Students enrolled in public universities or degree-granting institutions that have been properly recognized by HEC (excluding distance learning).
1) Students enrolled in 18-year programs leading to a PhD, MS, MPhil, or equivalent.
2) Students enrolling in daytime and evening 4- or 5-year bachelor's degree programs.
3) Three MBA programs (3.5 years, 2.5 years, and 1.5 years) have students enrolled.
INELIGIBLE:
Under this program, the following pupils will NOT be eligible for laptops.
1) Students enrolled in higher education institutions (HEIs) in the private sector.
2) Students enrolled in any government postsecondary and degree-granting institutions and allied institutions.
3) They were students who previously obtained a laptop through a Federal or Provincial Government program.
4) Foreign nationals, with the exception of AJK students.
5) If a student hasn't applied online or if the online portal hasn't received their application.
6) At the time of distribution, it will also be decided who qualifies for the laptop reward. The student(s) will not be given a laptop if they are unable to provide the necessary paperwork and evidence of their academic standing in relation to the data that qualified them for one.
7) Any chosen student who graduated from their degree program prior to receiving their laptop.
ELIGILBLE UNIVERSITES:
Students studying in public sector Universities/ Degree Awarding Institutes and sub-campuses duly recognized by HEC.
